Barb Horses

The Barb is renowned for being a tough, tremendously enduring, fast, and responsive horse and these qualities were required from it when it was breed with other breeds to improve them. It is not as spirited or as beautiful as the Arab and does not have its springy, floating action. Today the Barb makes a good riding horse, while formerly it was a superb warhorse. It is also used for riding, racing, and display. The Barb is little known outside its homeland and does not receive the recognition it deserves. True Barbs are black, bay, and dark bay/brown. Those with Arab blood show other colors. Barb Horses stand about 14 to 15 hands high.
